PRIVACY POLICY FOR iOS APP SunOnTrack
LAST UPDATED ON: 26 JUL 2023This privacy policy document informs you about the use of the iOS application SunOnTrack (short "the App") developed by Thomas Moder (short "the Developer"). The aim of the App is to provide information on sun data and sun movement on a map, on a live 3D camera view, but also raw data about sun movement and light changes. Furthermore, the opportunity to save frequently-used places and a shadow simulation mode which simulates shadows created by objects on a map based on set time and location are included.
Use of Apple Maps / MapKit
The App uses Apple MapKit in order to display map components. Therefore, it is subject to Apple Privacy Policy.
Information we collect and how it is used
Privacy is our priority. We only collect data we need to provide the services of the App. This implies:
- Permission for camera access: the camera is needed for AR 3D View to provide a live camera view and show the suns path on it.
- Permission for access on device location: the devices current location is used by built-in Apple Maps components and needed for AR 3D View since the sun path depends on the current location of the user.
When you use the functionality "Send feedback" built into the App, which is powered by Doorbell.io, information is sent to Doorbell.io and forwarded to us in order to collect and read feedback on the App. See Doorbells Privacy Policy and Doorbells Terms of Use.
This app has a license check built in. In case it assumes your app version does not come from official sources, an anonymous report is sent to our backend webserver (Privacy Policy) for statistical and debugging purposes. A randomly created identifier number is sent, but no personal data is collected or sent that enables to identify you as a person.
The App does use third party services that may collect information used to identify you. See Apple Privacy Policy.
Sharing Information with Third Parties
By using Apple Maps / MapKit components the App is subject to Apple Privacy Policy. When you use the functionality "Send feedback" built into the App, which is powered by Doorbell.io, information is sent to Doorbell.io and forwarded to us in order to collect and read feedback on the App. See Doorbells Privacy Policy and Doorbells Terms of Use. As privacy is our priority, our intent is to share information only as described in this privac policy document.
Information Storage by the Developer
When you use the functionality "Send feedback" built into the App, which is powered by Doorbell.io, the feedback information sent to Doorbell.io and forwarded to us will be stored indefinitely.
Children's Privacy
The App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do necessary actions.
Changes / Updates
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately, after they are posted on this page.
Using the App
If you choose to use the App (by opening it, interacting/touching it while opened, ...), then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation with this policy. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to the practicals described in this Privacy Policy or you do not want any information to be collected anymore, you may easily uninstall the App from your device at any time.
